“When I called Kids Helpline everything spilled out.”
One year when we were finally in the same class I saw her with two different girls - they were chatting and ignored me as I walked past. I was broken. We got to choose where we sat and she went with another girl. I sat next to the last girl left, Alice. Her best friend was sitting with another girl too. But I was cautious. I was expecting a fight, but it didn't happen.
Later on in that year I had a fight with my best friend which left me even more broken than before. I had no real best friend anymore, but my bond with Alice started to grow. It really sucked because everyone who didn't know what happened really annoyed me and everyone who did know blamed it on me.
When I called Kids Helpline everything spilled out. They gave me good advice and now I'm in a good relationship with Alice. Best friends. I may still have trust issues but my life is gradually getting better. Kids Helpline helped me realise friends come and go – and that I was lucky to have Alice when it happened.
