"I was able to find the courage to talk with my parents and teacher."
I had just started seeing this guy from another school. He was really nice and we got along super well. One day for fun he asked me to send him a naked picture of myself. At first I was like, no way! But as we kept talking it didn’t seem like too big a deal, it was only to him. Things being so new I didn’t want it to end either. So I did. What I didn’t realise was he forwarded that picture to one of his friends and eventually it got around to his whole year group.
I couldn’t tell my parents or anyone at school! Kids Helpline talked me through my options. We were able to get the photo deleted. I had no idea that sexting and forwarding the picture was illegal. I'm glad I talked to KHL as I know my options and that I’m not alone. I’m still kicking myself for ever sending it! My advice is to not send one - if they really like you they won't pressure you to.
