I just wanted to express my thoughts and for someone to listen to me and to not fix me. Kids Helpline did that. I was really grateful how they were able to listen to me and yet helped me process what I was going through. I tried Kids Helpline because they were directed towards young people and were more youth-friendly than some other services. When I was talking with Kids Helpline I felt more comfortable and okay with my problems. They were not solved per se but I felt that they weren't as debilitating.

My dad used to slap me. I had bruises on my arms and legs. I was too scared to go home. I contacted Kids Helpline and they helped me through everything.
It took a while for me to open up to others but I got there in the end. Talking about abuse or assult it hard but it's really important to get support.
