Competitions
Thank you to everyone who entered the Kids Helpline ‘Name the Dog’ Competition!
We received more than 400 entries from kids all over Australia and we were excited to see how many ideas everyone had, including telling us why they thought the name was a good fit with Kids Helpline. We were also very impressed with all the effort that kids put in, colouring in the dog.
When we looked at all of the entries, a small team decided on the finalists and then we asked lots of people to vote to select the 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize winners.
After all of that, the Kids Helpline mascot has a name.
A few kids suggested Buddy but the judges liked the reason given by Bronte Reid from NSW the best, who said she chose the name because Buddy was like:
‘having a friend to be there always, just like the Kids Helpline always being there for kids.’
Prize winners for the ‘Name the Dog’ competition are as follows:
1st prize - Bronte Reid, 11 years old, NSW - winning entry
2nd prize - Thomas Loughnan, 7 years old, VIC - winning entry
3rd prize - Nathanuel Messina, 12 years old, WA - winning entry
Thank you again to everyone who participated. We hope to see entries from you again in 2010 when Kids Helpline has its next competition for kids.
